ESNO 2026 - Patient Mobility Survey for Nurses Across Europe

ESNO 2026 - Patient Mobility Survey for Nurses Across Europe

The European Specialist Nurses Organisation (ESNO) is launching the 2026 Patient Mobility Survey to better understand current practices, challenges, and opportunities related to early patient mobilization in hospital settings across Europe.

As healthcare systems continue their digital transformation, nurses play a central role in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care. Early mobility is increasingly recognised as a key factor in improving patient outcomes, reducing complications, and supporting recovery. However, the realities of implementing mobility practices in clinical settings — including workload, available technologies, workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration — remain insufficiently documented.

This survey aims to collect insights directly from nursing professionals to help identify needs, priorities, and future solutions that can better support patient mobilization in hospitals. The findings will contribute to ongoing discussions around innovation, nursing practice, and digital healthcare transformation in Europe.

This initiative is supported through an educational grant from Philips.

We invite nurses and healthcare professionals across Europe to share their experience and perspectives. Your contribution will help shape future approaches to patient mobility and strengthen the voice of nurses within healthcare innovation.
